Chain Link Fences B S 1722 Part 1
Chain Link Fences have been a very popular and economic boundary demarcation fence for many years.
Metafence are able to offer the full range of British Standard 1722 Part 1 Chain Link Fences catering for Domestic, Industrial Security and Railway Safety specifications with heights ranging from 900 to 2150 mm.
The system is very versatile and the scope within the British Standards gives choices for light, medium or heavy gauge chain link with galvanised or powder coated finishes; wooden, steel or concrete posts; the top of the posts may be extended straight or cranked to receive three rows of barbwire.
Metafence is also able to offer the supply and installation of single and double leaf chain link gates, as specified in B S 1722 Part 1. It should be noted that the Company can supply these gates as manual opening or automated.
Chain Link is very versatile and can be easily incorporated in bespoke fence designs to very good affect; chain link when added to timber post and rail makes an excellent park, play ground, or stock fence.
An alternative to chain link on these types of fences would be weldmesh and the Company would be pleased to advise on the merits of each type of mesh.
Chain Link Fences B S 1722 Part 10
Anti-Intruder fences are used where an enhanced level of security is required over the fences conforming to B S 1722 Part 1. Typical sites using this level of security are airfields, industrial and commercial estates, research facilities, military, and fuel installations.
Metafence has the capability to supply and install chain link and weldmesh fences to the standard. The fences are 2400 mm high with straight, cranked or 'Y' extensions for barbwire and the bottom of the fence must be buried 300 mm, secured to hard standing by hair pin staples or encased in a concrete sill. The posts may be concrete or steel RSA, RHS or CHS, but it should be noted that Metafence will only use concrete posts if the fence lines are accessible to lifting machinery; manual handling of the concrete posts specified in this Standard pose to high a risk of injury.
In addition the Company supply and install the substantial single and double leaf gates specified with in the Standard, these gates have the same security criteria as the fence.
It should be noted that Metafence can supply these gates as manual opening or automated.
